We have used the Lux Bamboo diaper system for about a year and a half thus far and are quite pleased. After figuring out how to wash them, which took about three months to figure out through trial and error, then figuring out how to dry them, which took about a year, we are quite happy. We have had less than one blowout a month, though our son occasionally wets trough the system when we are traveling. So here is what we did to make it all work... we are at thirty three diapers at this time and do laundry twice a week (we use a disposable overnight diaper because we like to sleep and the Lux won't make it ten plus hours). We switched to Tide Pods for precise amounts of detergent (this was key to avoid soap buildup in the diapers). We do a quick wash on high soil with an extra rinse - one tide pod & one scoop of oxy-clean on high heat. Then we do the longest wash cycle possible for our machine (roughly two and a half hours) with an extra rinse with two Tide Pods & one scoop of oxy-clean on high heat. When the second load finishes we put the shells and any diaper bags we cleaned in the dryer on ultra low heat and let them go for about an hour. During this time we re-spin the liners to remove as much water as possible. When the shells & bags are dry we put the liners in the dryer on high heat until they are dry, usually about an hour. The high heat on the bamboo inserts has helped prevent twisting & bunching and the ultra low heat on the shells has prevented any melting. All said it takes about five hours to do a load of diapers.
